Description

The program serves adults and adolescents living in San Bernardino County who are in distress and have mental health needs that cannot wait. It helps people to manage these issues in a safe environment. The program exists to help people regain stability and return home, while avoiding unnecessary emergency psychiatric services or law enforcement contacts.

As a voluntary crisis support program, the Crisis Walk In Center offers a safe, respectful environment, where people in crisis can receive mental health services 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week. However, people can leave any time they choose.

Services include:

  • Rapid access to psychiatrists, nurses and licensed clinical staff. Mental health services are available at all times.
  • Intensive assessment and medication evaluation.
  • Problem resolution assistance.
  • Supportive counseling.
  • Appropriate linkage with community supports and services to assist people in addressing their needs.
  • Follow-up visits and/or contacts.

The CWIC takes walk-in clients and referrals from other providers. The program is open 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week.”- from the website.
