| “I am former Chief of Research, Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute and now an emeritus professor of psychiatry (UCSF). I retired in ’94, hated it, did volunteer work for few years and when that dried up I found it was easier to work for pay than to work for nothing. Since taking money for my services, my association with TBH has been a source of work that has been far more rewarding than the pay. As a bonus, I have enjoyed my association with other TBH physicians at the monthly meetings and their annual retreat.
“I was looking forward with great interest to working within Telecare’s ‘Recovery Oriented Model’ when my back and related problems disabled me. Work on a book of mine that Paeger will publish this summer is keeping me busy for the present... but then...?
“Unfortunately, at 83, whether I can make it back to work that requires walking is uncertain, but if I can, I can’t think of any thing more fun than to go to work for TBH again.”
