La Paz Geropsychiatric Center

La Casa is licensed as a 190-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC), providing assistance to adults with serious mental illness. La Casa also has a 16-bed acute Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF). There is also a walk in Crisis Clinic on the campus.

La Paz is a 130 bed Geropsychiatric facility for older adults who need 24 hour non-acute care in a skilled nursing environment.

  • La Casa & La Paz Medical Director - TBH is currently recruiting to fill the position of medical director for the four programs that comprise the La Casa & La Paz programs. The position is responsible for the overall medical care, physician leadership, scheduling and quality oversight as well as functioning as the on-site medical staff liaison to administration. The Medical Director position is a full time 40-Hour per week administrative role which can combine with clinical hours to obtain higher. $210,000 per year, plus up to $10,000 per year in bonuses and a benefit package valued at over $57,000. bonuses/benefits.
  • The Mental Health Urgent Care Center (MHUCC) in Long Beach, California seeks a general adult psychiatrist for 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday.  Coverage hours for this outpatient program would be from 11:00am-7:00pm.  An average of 15-20 adult clients seek services daily with upwards of 250-300 clients served monthly. 

    The psychiatrist role will include:
    Providing treatment interventions including, but not limited to: Initial screening of clients as required; initial psychiatric assessment, including screening for medical problems; prescribing and monitoring of medications; participating in determining disposition for clients; providing prescriptions for clients as needed upon discharge.

    Actively exhibit support for the programs’ philosophy of providing voluntary crisis services for clients, implementing an involuntary 5150 hold only when a client requires a higher level of care than the program can safely provide, based on an assessment of the clients risk of danger to self or others.

    Actively exhibit support for clients’ potential for recovery and values the importance of engaging clients in the process, including but not limited to: determining clients’ perspective on their experience with medications, side effects, medication tried etc..

    If medications are prescribed, a medication plan is developed with the client that includes consideration of the client’s preference, concerns and goals.

    It is helpful to understand and be comfortable with the recovery model and client-centered treatment approach. The Psychiatrist will be working closely with Social Workers, Nurses, and Crisis Intervention Specialists.  The Psychiatrist reports to the facility Medical Director.  Salary $210,000 per annum plus up to $10,000 in bonuses and a benefit package valued at over $57,000

TAO AMHS is an ACT program in Anaheim.

ATLAS 7 is funded by Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) dollars. Located in Service Area 7, it serves clients using a "full-service partnership" model, which offers wrap-around support to individuals to support successful community living.

  • Telecare ATLAS
    Norwalk, CA

    Seeks 20 hours a week, 2 x 10 hour days, to see 58 members in an ACT program called ATLAS FSP 7 - cover area 7 (south east LA – from Whittier to Hawaiian Gardens, from South Gate to the Orange County line; but almost half of the members live outside the area 7, in Long Beach )
    100 % of the physician services visits are provided in the field. An office is available in Long Beach rented for an afternoon once a week the docs use for members (to come there by themselves or sometimes brought in by PSCs). It is a Recovery, Harm Reduction, ACT model. Multidisciplinary team with nurses, social workers, therapists, rehab specialist and consumer providers. One nurse assigned to each doctor. Doctors do their own schedule. Need to attend one morning meeting a week
    (most of the docs only come to the office once a week for one morning meeting and spend the rest of that day and the following day in the field, many don't even come here one of the days – Chris, for example, one day goes from home (in Long Beach) to visit members in Long Beach and then back home. Doc will either have a wireless laptop to write own notes or dictate .
    Telecare ATLAS, an ACT model program, seeks psychiatrist 20 hours per week.  ACT positions are wonderful opportunities to practice community psychiatry, harm reduction and to work with mental health consumers in a non-time focused, outcome-oriented clinical-team-centered environment.  Salary $89,513.20 per year plus pro-rated benefits
